We are happy to announce that our new square sets to accompany our new 2R Woodworkers RuleTM. These squares are a collaboration with our Friend Tony Rouleau from Hillview Tool. We have discussed a collaboration for a few years now as I really admire his tools and love the squares that he makes, the clamp screw made from a harden cap-screw is an ingenious idea.
Using some of his elements I set out to design a combination square to match my new 6” 2R Woodworkers RuleTM. Tony and I are thrilled with the results. I also made some slight changes to his double square to retain the Sterling Tool Works theme of our products.
As I previously have written, the 2R Woodworkers RuleTM is thicker than any other ruler on the market at this size. It is the same thickness as 12” rulers from other large manufacturers. Standardizing on this thickness is important as I add other rulers in the future.
The square stocks are made of Brass in Tony’s shop in Greenwich NY and the 2R Rulers are 100% made in the USA. I have spent more than a year perfecting the manufacturing processes through multiple steps and vendors specializing in each step to bring the highest quality rulers that I designed SPECIFICALLY for woodworkers.
I am now accepting pre-orders with deposits for these square sets. For those that place a preorder with a deposit you will get an introductory discount of 10%. This helps me with this new launch, and in turn I provide some savings to you all. Production units from the next run will ship in December.
